Jamaica Hibiscus Pod

Quantity/Pack: 3 packages (2 oz. each)
Seasonality: Year Round
Origin: Nigeria

Slightly tart (like cranberries), Jamaica blends well with other teas (especially when infused with sorrel leaves) and imparts a warm, pinkish (fuchsia) color.

Jamaica from Don Enrique® is the Spanish name given to the Hibiscus Pod. A native of tropical Asia, 300 different species of hibiscus can be found throughout the world. Although scientists have been unable to substantiate any medicinal claims, hibiscus is often praised for its healing value.

Also called Indian Roselle, Rosella, or Indian Sorrel, Jamaica is grown for its fleshy red "pods" which are commonly used to make jams, jellies, sauces and refreshing drinks. Slightly tart (like cranberries), Jamaica blends well with other teas (especially when infused with sorrel leaves) and imparts a warm, pinkish (fuchsia) color.

Don Enrique’s Jamaica is hand picked for excellent quality. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 9 months.

Don Enrique’s Jamaica may be chopped or crushed before using.
